Who am I?
Mr. Justin Baldridge is an educator, director, and music director. He aims to inspire and nurture the creative spirit in his students through the study of acting, theatre history, directing, producing, playwriting, and the development of new work.
For ten years Mr. Baldridge taught theatre at the secondary level in Orange County and in South Bay near Los Angeles. In 2016 he moved to New York City to pursue a career in directing. While there, he had the opportunity to direct and develop new works Off-Broadway (A Dog Story), in Theatre Festivals (The Time Machine), and Off-Off Broadway. He was also a frequent guest artist at the Florida State Thespian Festival where he worked with Tony Award Winner, Alice Ripley, and Tony Nominee, Rebecca Luker.
The Wolf Pack Theatre Company at Van Nuys High School runs like a professional theatre company, in which the acting courses in the department (Intro to Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Theatre Directing) prepare our troupe of actors for the mainstage productions. Once a student makes it into production, they gain professional experience through the production process. The Wolf Pack Theatre Department strives for excellence at the collegiate level.
Mr. Baldridge leans towards ensemble based, edgy work, which provokes strong emotional responses from audiences. He likes theatre to jolt an audience’s emotions to make them hyper aware of their reality. This in turn forces audiences to engage in figuring out how they fit into this reality.
Mr. Baldridge earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theater and English from California State University, Fullerton and earned his Masters Degree studying Theatre Directing at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
