Welcome Back to the 2025-2026 school year! This new year brings a new bell schedule and class calendar. To help you better understand the Van Nuys HS new bell schedule and class calendar please see the explanation below.
The new block schedule, referred to as 2x8 block, will rotate each day between Crimson and Gray days. Periods 1, 2, 3, 4 will meet on Crimson days and Periods 5, 6, 7, 8 will meet on Gray days. School days will rotate between Crimson/Gray continuously throughout the year. Every Tuesday will be a Professional Development (PD) schedule ending at 2:23pm. Please see the calendar for designated “minimum days”.
The first day of school begins with a Crimson Day, periods 1, 2, 3, 4. Students must check the Room Finders posted in the main hallway, flagpole and outside Auditorium on the first day of school in the morning to verify the Period 1 classroom. Students will receive a final copy of his/her class schedule in their Period 1. The second day of school is a Gray Day this means students will then go to periods 5, 6, 7, 8.
